SYMPTOMS:

When you try to start Microsoft Office Project 2003 or Microsoft Project 2002, the program does not start. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

"Microsoft Project could not open Global.mpt. The file Global.mpt is either corrupted or missing. Please contact your system administrator to restore Global.mpt."

CAUSE:

One known cause of this condition is an incompatible or outdated version of Norton Anti-virus is installed on your machine.

RESOLUTION:

Make sure that your Norton Anti-virus on the machine with Project 2003 is up-to-date.
